(Mexico City, 1980)

Joaquin Segura’s artistic practice meditates on the phenomenology of history, power and truth, as well as on notions such as crisis and contemporaneity, objecthood, sociopolitical microclimates, asymmetrical history and ideology in the contemporary world.

Some of the most relevant concerns in his recent production revolve around the nature of power and its self-regulating mechanisms and the ontological significance of dissent and failure, with a particular emphasis on its materiality.

Active since the early 2000s, his work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
